Sharon Lee Cope, 55, passed away at 4:55 am Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Alton Rehab and Nursing in Alton, with her family by her side.
She was born on July 28, 1958 in Hillsboro, IL the daughter of the late Don Boerckel and Shirley (Moreland) Pembroke of South Roxana.
She was married Danny L. Cope Sr. on May 31, 1975, he survives.
Sharon enjoyed camping and bowling, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons; Danny L. Cope Jr. of Alton and David Dwayne Cope of Alton, two grandsons; Danny L. Cope III and David Dwayne Cope Jr., three sisters; Barbara Breckle of Hartford, Tammy Geisen of Cottage Hills and Sue Boerckel of Wood River and two brothers; Alen and his spouse Connie Boerckel of Litchfield and Dale Boerckel of St. Louis, MO, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the Elias Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.
Funeral service will be at 10 am, Monday, February 10, 2014 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton with Rev Charles West officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
