Sharon L. Mueller, age 78 of Papillion, NE, died Saturday, October 1, 2022, at CHI Health Midlands in Papillion, NE.

She was born on Monday, July 3, 1944, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Earl and Agnes (nee Richter) McCain.

On Saturday, May 2, 1964, she married Richard Allen Mueller at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL, who passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2012.

She was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church, Papillion, NE. She was a former member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL.

Sharon was born on July 3, 1944, in Highland, IL. She was a 1962 graduate of St. Paul High School, Highland, IL. Following her marriage, she drove a school bus for St. Paul and retired in 1975. Later she was a manager for the Lory Theater in Highland until 1983, when she and her husband moved to Papillion, NE, where he worked for Union Pacific. She had worked at American Diapers, Cracker Barrel and other businesses in Papillion. She retired in 2010. She enjoyed going to casinos in Council Bluffs, watching Hallmark TV movies, following the St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Nebraska Corn Huskers football and time spent outdoors. Her greatest joy was taking care of her husband, children and grandchildren.

Survivors include: Daughter - Denise M. Mueller, La Vista, NE; Son - Daniel J. (Cindy) Mueller, Fenton, MO; Son - Derek M. (Janell) Mueller, Berryton, KS; Daughter - Dawn R. (Paul) Denny, La Vista, NE; Daughter - Danajo A. (Adam) Poppleton, Plattsmouth, NE; Grandchildren - Morgan E. Mueller; Austin P. Mueller; Matthew C. Mueller; Karianne J. Denny; Hadley R. Poppleton; Step Grandchildren - Kelly R. (Daniel) Krueger; Julie A. (Alexander) Bloemke; Abbi L. Poppleton; Step Great Grandchildren - Bennett Bloemke; Kassidy Krueger; Derek Krueger.

She was preceded by: Father - Earl H. McCain - Died 3/31/2007; Mother - Agnes J. (nee Richter) McCain - Died 1/10/1999; Husband - Richard A. Mueller - Died 1/17/2012; Brother - Infant McCain - Died 1954; Sister - Janice K. McCain - Died 11/25/2000.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Visitation will be held from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home, Highland, IL.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, October 7, 2022, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL, with Father James E. Deiters, Pastor, St. Clair Catholic Church O'Fallon, IL, officiating.

Interment will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul School Educational Foundation or American Kidney Foundation.
