Sharon Ann Moore, 58, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Christian Hospital Northeast. Born June 5, 1952 in Alton, she was the daughter of Harold L. “Hod” Moore and Mary Ann (Stimac) Moore. Sharon had worked as a bartender and waitress at the former Scotty’s and Butkovich’s Taverns in Wood River.
She is survived by her brother, Harold “Hod” Moore and his wife Judy of Alton; her niece, Sarah Moore; her nephew, Zack Moore; three aunts, Rose “Soonie” Huch of East Alton, Josephine Krpan of Bethalto, and Donna Faye Stimac of Wood River; and an uncle, Emmett “Dizzy” Moore of Glen Carbon. Sharon also leaves behind many cousins and all her friends with whom she grew up in her beloved neighborhood of “Little Italy” in Wood River.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents, Matthew and Martha Mary (Baricivich) Stimac and Emmett “Buck” and Mary Moore; and several aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, with a prayer service at 4 p.m.
Father James Flach will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Wood River.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the Kleine-Levin Syndrome Foundation.
