Shara M. Helm, 54, of Holiday Shores in Edwardsville, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025.
She was born in Alton on December 31, 1970, the daughter of Sharon Kay (Brewster) Madrey. Shara married Brian E. Helm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Edwardsville on September 25, 1993. He survives.
Shara worked as a hairdresser in the community for over 35 years, and she loved doing so. She enjoyed reading. Shara loved to go fishing with Brian and going cruising in their 1968 Chevelle. She absolutely loved her dogs, Kovi and Anya. Most of all, Shara loved spending time with her friends and family.
Along with her husband, Brian, she is survived by her siblings, Sean Madrey of Wood River, Serena (Bill) Jeffers of Texas, and Scott Madrey of Litchfield; sister-in-law, Jeanne Madrey of Alton; sister-in-law, Sara Rials of Troy; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon, a brother, Sam "D.T." Madrey; father and mother-in-law, Edward and Doris Jean Helm; and brother-in-law, Greg Helm.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 12 pm until time of service at 3 pm, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor Terry McKinzie will officiate.
