Selina M. Wallace, 98, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Integrity Healthcare of Godfrey.
Born June 21, 1923, in Piasa, IL, she was a daughter of Howard and Vera (Wright) Gwillim.
She married Fred H. Wallace and had 52 years together before his passing in 1996.
Surviving are four daughters, Peggy E. Smith of East Alton, Vera M. Masengale of Mustang, OK, Donna (Charles) Thornton of Bethalto, and Ethel (David) Felgar of Farmington, IL; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, J.W. Gwillim of Shipman, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred H. Wallace, Sr.; a son, Fred H. Wallace, Jr.; two sons-in-law, Frank E. Smith, and Melvin O. Masengale; and a sister and brother-in-law, Gwen and Arthur Welch.
Depending on the state of the Covid-19 pandemic, a memorial service may be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be given to New Testament Missionary Baptist Church in Wood River.
