Sarah J. Emmons, 70, passed away Monday, September 11, 2017 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born August 13, 1947 in Alton, she was the daughter of Alvin and Myrna (Dunn) Stahl. Sarah attended Westminster Presbyterian Church in Godfrey. She and Robert Emmons were married for 51 years and had three children and five grandchildren. She was the matriarch of the family. Along with her husband she is survived by three daughters, Amy (Todd) Cress of Godfrey, Lisa (Mike) Barton of Elsah, and Natalie Emmons of Godfrey. Five grandchildren, Alexis Barton, Taylor Barton, Abigale Barton, Clint Cress and Carly Cress. Also surviving is a sister, Rita (Pete) Parrino of Godfrey. She was preceded in death by her parents. All services will be private at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Adrian Das will officiate. Memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church.
