Sandra Keith Walker, 82, passed away at 12 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Alton Memorial Hospital. She came into this world on June 11, 1942, in Fredericktown, MO as the daughter of the late Stanley Ralph and Madge Lucille (Galey) Strange. Alongside Sandra were two siblings, the late Max Strange (Jackie) and Gayle Revelle (Rick), who survives her. In 1962, Sandra met James Lee Walker on a blind date. They were married seven months later, on November 10, 1962, in Fredericktown, MO. Survived by her husband, Sandra enjoyed 62 years of marriage with Jim. Born of Jim and Sandra’s love were three children who survive her: John Walker of St. Louis, MO, Sara Edwards (Chris) of Alton, IL and Phil Walker of Alton, IL. Sandra is also survived by 2 granddaughters, Abby Edwards (Madison) and JoJo Edwards and one great granddaughter, Reyna Edwards.
Strong and tenacious, Sandra was a natural leader. She worked for many years in retail management alongside her husband, retiring from Walmart. Loyal and steadfast in her love for her country, dear ones and faith, Sandra was a life-long Christian, proud Democrat, and true matriarch of the family.
