Sally F. Robley, 95, passed away at 6:00 am Tuesday July 20, 2010 at home fortified with the sacraments of holy mother church.
She was born on July 27, 1914 in Carrollton, IL the daughter of Bernard “Barney” A. and Sophia L. (Hansen) Geers.
She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, she worked at Camp Hood, TX in payroll during WWII , for the Rubberoid Company in St. Louis from 1955 to 1965 and then for the U.S. Government Postal Data Center from 1965 until she retired in 1981.
She is survived by one daughter, Maryann Trittschuh of Godfrey, a daughter-in-law, Cathleen Robley of Stoney Brook Long Island, NY; five grandchildren, Sally Ann Robley, Richard W. “Rickey”, David Anthony, Steven John and Michael Bernard Robley, all of Stony Brook Long Island, NY, two sisters-in-law, Elsie Geers of White Hall and Louise Geers of Paxton, IL; two nephews, Sam and Joe Geers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ross Robley, a son, Richard R. Robley in 1996; and a son-in-law, Edward Dean Trittschuh 1993.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Friday July 23, 2010 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Saturday July 24, 2010 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton with Fr. Peter Donohoe and Fr. Jim Flach concelebrating.
Burial will follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Carrollton.
Memorials may be made to Masses, Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, St. Vincent DePaul Society, or the Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George.
