Ruth Leona “Lee” Long, 88, died at 12:05 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born August 8, 1927 in Alton the daughter of the late Edwin J. and Anna Mae (West) Pelot. She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ in Godfrey. Lee worked for 30 years at the Midwest Group in Alton. On June 23, 1945 in Alton she married Richard “Dick” Long and he preceded her in death on April 30, 2016. She is survived by a daughter; Janet Kaye Brehm (Erich) of Sunnyvale, Texas, and a son, Kenny Long (Kris Keil) of Florissant, Missouri, four grandchildren; Rebekah Angove of Luling, Louisiana, Michael Long of Dixon, Illinois, Erich Brehm, Jr. of Houston, Texas, and Christina Brehm of Los Angeles, California, and one great-grandchild, one brother; Edwin William “Bill” Pelot of Minneapolis, MN. She was preceded in death by one sister; Shirley Dewey. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Gent Funeral Home with John Dewey officiating.
