Ruth E. Wieseman, 85, passed away at 2:24 pm on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Terrace on the Park Nursing Home in Mascoutah.
She was born on August 17, 1926 in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of Fred and Addie (Harlan) Mans.
She married Elwood J. Wieseman on August 15, 1952 at Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto. He passed away on August 23, 1997.
Ruth was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto, where she taught Sunday School. She also volunteered in the church office and at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Cathy Wieseman of Tulsa, OK; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Bill Craft of Edwardsville; five grandchildren, Rachel, Anna and Mark Wieseman and Andrew and Joshua Craft; one brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Satoko Mans of Leeds, UT; a sister, Emma Jean Evans of Great Falls, MT and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth Wieseman and two sisters, Mary Ann French and Barbara Cox.
Visitation will be at 9 am until funeral services at 11 am Monday, January 9, 2012 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Willard Meyer officiating.
Burial will follow at St. John’s United Church of Christ Cemetery in Midway. .
