Russell D. Baggett, 79, passed away at 1:20 am, January 1, 2013 at his residence.
He was born in Karbers Ridge, Illinois on April 27, 1933 the son of the late Guyy and Verba (Burton) Baggett.
On November 26, 1954 he married Ilma Farnbach in Alton, Illinois.
Russell was employed with the Teamsters as an over the road truck driver for 37 years. He is a member of Faith Lutheran Church and served in the Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by one daughter and her spouse, Cheri and John Gineris of Dow, IL; one son and his spouse, Mark and Gloria Baggett of Mason, OH; four grandchildren, Sarah Betz, Katie Yenne, Carlie Guidone, and Dean Baggett; one brother, Richard Baggett of Texas; one sister, Linda Sue Meracle of Marion, IL; one brother-in-law, John Rodger of Alton; and one sister-in-law, Delma Rodgers of Alton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Russell Baggett, sister in law, Velma Dutchick, and a brother, Darwin Baggett.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm, Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 am, Friday, January 4, 2013 at Faith Lutheran Church in Godfrey with Rev. Kelly Mitteis officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
