Ruby Middleton

Ruby Lorene Middleton, 87, died at 1:36 a.m. Monday, October 25, 2010 at Alton Memorial Hospital. 

Born May 15, 1923 in Walshville, IL, she was the daughter of Roy and Sarah (Compton) File.  She was a former co-owner of Glenhaven Golf Tee in Godfrey and retired from Stork’s Cleaners in 1965.  She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and was an avid bowler. On June 1, 1940 in St. Charles, MO, she married Jack A. Middleton.  He preceded her in death on February 23, 1988. 

Surviving are two sons, Bob Middleton of Godfrey and Terry M. Middleton and his wife Laurie of Alton.  Also surviving are six grandchildren; Misty Eickhoff and her husband Aaron of Godfrey, Tori Haynes and her husband Mark of Alton, Rusty Middleton and his wife Jamie of Alton, Mike Novak and his wife Eilene of Naperville and Amy Minniear of Tempe, AZ, eight great grandchildren; McKenzie Eickhoff of Godfrey, Mia Eickhoff of Godfrey, Cooper Haynes of Alton, Ella Middleton of Bethalto, Grace Middleton of Alton, Finley Haynes of Alton, Jackson Middleton of Alton and Camden Middleton of Bethalto, and one brother, Delmar File of Lawton, OK.  She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. 

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday.  Reverend David Olson will officiate. 

Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. 

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
