Roy Junior Rulo, 62, went home to be with his Saviour on Monday, August 17, 2010 at his residence.
He was born in Grafton on Jan. 3, 1948 one of 13 children born to Rolla P. & Blanche (DeClue) Rulo.
He grew up along the river in Grafton, and graduated in 1966 from Jersey Community High School. He began working at McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis for a brief time and accepted employment at Chemetco in Hartford where he retired as a foundry supervisor after 32 years of dedicated service.
He first married Pamela Kay Leible on Dec. 9, 1967 in Grafton, and they were married but a short time before her death on May 29, 1974. He then married Dottie R. Isringhausen on April 18, 1975 at the First Baptist Church in Jerseyville, and together they have shared the past 35 years together.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jerseyville, and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing and hunting, whether it was deer, turkey or morel mushrooms, but nothing compared to his grandkids.
Surviving are his wife, Dottie Rulo of Godfrey; his father & stepmother, Rolla & Judy Rulo of Jerseyville; five children & their spouses, Paula Baker and her companion, Tony Weck of Belleville, Karmen & Michael Trzupek of Seattle, Wa., Dawn & Ryan Mobley of Springfield, John & Jennifer Rulo of Godfrey, Patrick & Jennifer Rulo of Fayetteville, NC.; 15 Grandchildren, Roy Chrisopher & Daniel Baker, Alexis Weck, Hannah, Ellie, Aiden, Rachel, & Lydia Mobley, Sydney, Ella & Sam Trzupek, Lucas Rulo, Meredith Rulo, April Rulo, and Jessica Rulo; three sisters & brothers in law, Betty & Jerry Howard of East Alton, Charlene Carpenter of Alton, and Sharon & Ed Lyons of Grafton; six brothers & sisters in law, Rollen & Shirley Rulo of Grafton, Joseph & Brenda Rulo of Elsah, Ronald & Kathy Rulo, Richard & Cheryl Rulo, Terry & Ellen Rulo, and Jerry & Paula Rulo all of Grafton; his mother in law, Gertrude Isringhausen of Jerseyville.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Blanche Rulo; a sister, Mary Catherine Rulo; two brothers, Kenneth R. Rulo, and David Michael Rulo; a brother in law, Rex Carpenter; his step mother, Cathy Rulo; and his father in law, Laverne Isringhausen.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Jerseyville, with Dr. Gilbert Sanders officiating.
Entombment will be in Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church in Jerseyville or to the American Cancer Society.
