Roy Day

Roy Alonzo Day, age 68 of Alhambra, IL, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the home of his nephew in Gillespie, IL.

He was born on Friday, June 21, 1957, in Jerseyville, IL, the son of Amos and Rosella (nee Crabtree) Day.

Alonzo graduated from Highland High School. He was self-employed as a handyman. Alonzo liked to ride his bike. He enjoyed watching wrestling and playing slots. He loved joking around with people and didn’t know a stranger.

Arrangements are being handled by Dauderman Mortuary, Alhambra, IL.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Dauderman Mortuary in Alhambra, IL and from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Dauderman Mortuary in Alhambra, IL.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Dauderman Mortuary in Alhambra, IL., with Rev. Mark Gause, officiating.

Interment will be at Murdale Gardens of Memory in Murphysboro, IL, at 2:30 PM with Pastor Aaron Wadding, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to funeral home (payable to Andrew Bondy) per family wishes for Maedge’s Bar & Grill’s staff.
