Rosalie Irene (Buffington) Badgley, 90, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Rosalie was born in Godfrey on March 10, 1925. She was the daughter of Paris V. and Frances E. (Warner) Buffington. She married Arthur Daniel Badgley on November 9, 1947 at the Upper Alton Baptist Church. Arthur preceded her in death on April 12, 2015. Art and Rosie’s children are Hubert (Linda) Badgley of Edwardsville, Brenna (Bill) Bishop of Fieldon, Ken (Terry) Badgley of Alton, Karen Port of Alton, and Carol Badgley of Cottage Hills. Rosalie was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Russell, Robert and Roland, two sisters, Loretta and Alberta, and her son-in-law Christopher Port. Rosalie spent her married life as a homemaker at their home in Godfrey where they lived for over 50 years. She enjoyed reading, Knitting, gardening and going to yard sales. Rosalie has 11 grandchildren: James Rozell, Kenneth Rozell (fiancé Julie Mattingly), Lisa (Eric) LaBarge, Tom Harp, David Harp, Miranda (Brett) Taylor, Josh (Rhonda) Kottemann, Andrew (Mercy) Bishop, Charles (Kara) Badgley, Luke Malone and Aubrey Malone. She also has 12 great-grandchildren: Tristan and Ashlynn Kottemann, Claire, Alex and Henry Bishop, Elyssa Badgley, Elijah and Maddilyn Harp, Ava and Fiona Taylor, Caden French, and Rhys LaBarge. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Randy Butler will officiate.
