Rosalie I. Kingston, 91, passed away at 9:23 pm Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Health Center in Alton.
She was born on August 20, 1919 in Jersey County, IL, the daughter of Henry & Ruby (Harmon) Walker.
She married Guy W. Kingston on December 14, 1943 in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death on February 3, 2002.
Rosalie was chief cook of the Cottage Hills School Cafeteria for 31 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cottage Hills.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Nora & Kim Depping and Ruby & Charles Bryan all of Bethalto; five grandchildren and their spouses, Norah & R.P. Viehman, Patrick & Elaine Bryan, Cullen Bryan and his finance’ Jennifer Steiner, Mark & Tenna Depping and Christopher & Becky Depping; nine great grandchildren, Kyria Viehman, Connor Bryan, Jeff Viehman, Ford Viehman, Caleigh Bryan, and Kaitlyn, Zachary, Trevin, and Abby Depping,
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, husband, and two brothers, Floyd and Marion Walker and a sister, Florence Lynn.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, September 17, 2010 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Funeral services will be at 10 am on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. Bob Battles.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
