Rosalie Ann Garrett, 82, of Gillespie, IL, died at her residence on Friday, September 17, 2021, at 6:42 am.
She was born August 18, 1939, in Litchfield, IL to Joe Valerio & Verna (May) Valerio. She married Philip D. Garrett. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2010.
Rosalie graduated from SIUE after receiving her master's degree. Rosalie retired in 1996 after having been a math and physics teacher for Southwestern School District. Rosalie was a member of the Illinois Education Association and Teachers Retirement Association.
She is survived by her children, Theresa Beebe of Litchfield, IL, Patty Garrett of Springfield, IL, stepdaughter, Jennifer Garrett of Rogersville, AL, grandchildren, Raymond Beebe, Jessica Hammon, great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Beebe, Josie Beebe, brother in law, Jerry Tilley, several nieces and nephews.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, sister, Joann Tilley, brother, Gerald Valerio, and nephew, Mike Tilley.
A celebration of life will be on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Kravanya Funeral Home, Gillespie, IL where friends may call from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm and where a memorial service will be at 7 pm.
