Ronald Strowmatt

Ronald “Ron” Strowmatt 86, passed away at 1:53 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at his daughter’s home. He was born July 8, 1938 in Roodhouse, IL, the son of the late Harry and Rena (Bushnell) Strowmatt. Ronald served in the U.S. Army, worked as a senior clerk with General Motors in Wentzville, MO. and was a member of the Franklin Lodge No. 25 A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge of Alton, Alton Owl’s Club, Alton Boat Club, Alton American Legion and Alton Moose. 

Surviving are three daughters, Jeanne Austin (Butch) of East Alton, Rhonda Strowmatt of Godfrey, Lori Cole of Steelville, MO and one son, Mike Rose (Bettie) of Bethalto. Five grandchildren, Lauren Boswell, Bryan Strowmatt, Rikki Watts, Camille DeMond and Chase Ware and one great granddaughter, Clarke Boswell, two sisters, Shirley Ruyle and Rita Roe. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Claude “Glenn” Strowmatt. 

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until Masonic Service at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Burial will be at Richwoods Cemetery in rural Roodhouse, IL.
