Ronald “Ron” David Beck, age 73, of Edwardsville, IL, passed away at 5:20 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at his home.
Ron was born on June 5, 1948, in Springfield, IL the son of the late Gayle Vernon and Barbara (Gent) Beck.
He was the former owner of Fischer Insurance Agency in Staunton, IL. He most recently was an insurance producer for Washington National.
Ron is survived by two daughters, Lauren Landfried and her husband, Ben, of Edwardsville and Erika Beck and her fiancé, Joe Ouderkirk, of Ballwin, MO; two grandsons, David and Daniel Landfried of Edwardsville; three grand furkids, Harry, Apollo, and Sammy; one brother, John Beck and his wife, Annette, of Springfield, IL, and his former wife, Nannette Robinson and her husband, John, of Gillespie, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ron was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and politics. Ron was a wine and bourbon aficionado and enjoyed listening to Rock and Roll. Some of his favorite bands were the Rolling Stones and CCR. Most importantly, Ron loved spending time with his family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville. A private graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
