Roger L. Combs died peacefully at his home, Tuesday, May 17, 2011 after a brief illness. He was born December 2, 1949, in Alton, IL, son of Norman L. and Hazel Ivadean (Austin) Combs.
He worked over 30 years for Specialized Services Sheltered Workshop and later at Florissant Valley Sheltered Workshop. He loved to travel and his immediate family was everything to him. He was a loving care giver to his Mother and Step-father for many years.
He is survived by a sister Nancy (Richard) Mandry of Alton with whom he resided; a niece Natalie (William) Blechle of Florissant, MO; nephews, Andrew (Amy) Hall of Keller, TX, Timothy (Jennifer) Mandry of Doniphan, MO and Douglas (Michelle) of Mandry of Mayfield, KY; a great-nieces, Abby, Alexis, Faith and Skylar and a great-nephew Anthony.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his beloved step-father, John H. Edwards; grandparents Arthur and Mary Grace (Riley) Austin and Royal and Mary Ann (Fry) Combs.
A special thank you to the BJC Hospice for their services. He will be cremated and there will be no services or Visitation.
