Robert J. Crivello, 80, died at 9:55 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born March 22, 1932 in Alton, he was the son of Joseph “Dutz” and Alvina (Wutzler) Crivello. He graduated from St. Louis University and served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany from 1954-1956. He was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church and retired in 1993 from McDonnell Douglas in Engineering Procurement Services. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed playing golf, hunting, fishing, and was a member of the Alton Wood River Sportsman’s Club and the N.R.A. Other interests included woodworking, watercolor painting, photography, genealogy, traveling and football. He loved aviation and was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. On September 1, 1956 in Alton, he married the former Julie Geddes. She survives. Also surviving are four children, Rick Crivello (Monica) of Alton, Mary Ann Tickner (Mike) of Godfrey, Nancy Rynders (Ted) of St. Peters, MO, and Dan Crivello (Lynn) of Collinsville, seven grandchildren, Jessica Kreider (Chris), Brandon Crivello, Joshua and Katelin Tickner, Sarah and Samantha Rynders, and Joseph Crivello, two great grandchildren, Caiden and Camden Kreider, one brother, John Crivello (Cynthia) of Paducah, KY, and a sister, Mary Nickell (Robert) of Godfrey. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kelsey Jo Crivello, and a niece, Kathy Nickell. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 10, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
