Robert Gene Gagliardo, 85, died at 1:07 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Alton Memorial Rehab. Born October 27, 1938 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Antonio and Hilda (Kessman) Gagliardo. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired as an electrician for IBEW Local 649. On December 16, 1967 he married the former Judith “Judy” List in Godfrey, IL. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Mike (Janet) Gagliardo of Nashville, TN, and Robert Gagliardo of Collinsville, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also surviving is a brother, John (Rhonda) Gagliardo of Wood River, and two sisters, Pat (Marlin) Wagner of Edwardsville, and Betty Skief of Gillespie. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Gagliardo. Memorial visitation will be from 10 until time of Memorial service at 11 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wood River, Saturday, August 17, 2024 at St. Private burial will be at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wood River. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
