Robert Eugene Reed Sr., 68, of Jerseyville, died at 11:55 a.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at his residence.He was born in Winters, Solana County, California on May 28, 1943, the son of the late William Carroll & Emma Mae (Read) Reed.He was retired employee of Kienstra Concrete in Wood River and is survived by his six sons, Robert E. Reed Jr. of Kentucky, Billy Reed of Plainview, James Reed and Donny Reed both of Kentucky, John Reed of Troy, and George Reed of Jerseyville; numerous grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Reed; a brother, James Reed; and two sisters, Ella & Leona.Per his request cremation has been accorded and no services will be held.Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville is in charge of the arrangements.
