Rita Ann Minor, 71, of Brighton, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born on May 20, 1953, in Alton, the daughter of the late Earnest Via Sr. and Elizabeth Moore.
Rita married Paul “Dinky” Minor on May 8, 1972, in Alton. He preceded her in death on August 21, 2021.
She was a home maker, and ran a craft shop out of her barn. Rita eventually moved her shop into a bus and traveled to craft shows. She especially enjoyed tole painting.
Rita is survived by two children Mendi (Mike) Thiemann of Brighton and Josh Minor of Bethalto; two sisters Fran Scheurer, Martha Scaturro, and Vicki Unger; brother Earnest Via Jr; two beloved “grand dogs” Ethel and Opie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son Gregory Minor.
Per her wishes no services are scheduled at this time.
