“Rickey” Stanton, 79, passed away at 10:42 am on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton.
She was born on August 14, 1931 in Hartford, IL, the daughter of Edwin and Margarat (Graham) Clary.
She married Robert Eugene Stanton on June 4, 1947 in Hartford, IL. She survives.
Rickey was a homemaker most of her life. She was very involved with her church, Abundant Life Church. She enjoyed making crafts and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 64 years, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Steven Karlas of Godfrey; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Eugene and Colleen Stanton of Godfrey; four grandchildren and their spouses, Aaron and Diane Karlas, Nathan and Kellie Karlas, Jacob and Liz Wells and David and Angie Clark; eight great grandchildren, Zach, Josh, Grant, Luke, Olivia, J.R., Emma and Brady; a brother and sister-i-law, Jim and Norma Clary of Alton; a sister, Frances Heindman of Kelso, WA and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Bob Foutch, an infant daughter and a great granddaughter, Paige.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Monday, July 18, 2011 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Abundant Life Church in Alton with Pastor Roy Rhodes officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
