Richard W. Lybarger, 62, passed away April 12, 2016 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born on December 18, 1953 in East Saint Louis, the son of William O. and Mary C. (Stallings) Lybarger.
He married Debra A. Crum (Stevens) on December 21, 1994 in Godfrey, IL.
He was an electrician for Shell Oil Company for 33 years, until retiring in 2009. He enjoyed spending his time watching NASCAR, tinkering and working on sports cars and muscle cars, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife; his mother, Mary of Florida; a son, Christopher Lybarger of St. Louis, MO, a stepson, David Stevens of Hamilton, Ohio and a stepdaughter, Lena Stevens of Alton; five grandchildren, Maria, Eliana, Tyler, Jeffrey and Delilah; a sister, Roxanne Koutsoulieris of Florida; three nieces and two nephews and multiple great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents and an aunt.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Friday, April 15, 2016 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the funeral home.
