Richard L. Conner, 66, passed away at 7:25 am Thursday June 27, 2013 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
He was born on November 14, 1946, the son of the late Denzel & Dorotha (Griffin) Conner.
He married Michele Dumey on July 26, 1991at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Brighton. She survives.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton and worked as forklift driver at Gateway packaging. He loved riding his Harley Davidson and will be missed by his two dogs, “Bella” and “Jadore”.
Richard will be missed by his wife, Mickey Conner of Godfrey, one daughter, Liberty Conner of Alton, eight siblings and spouses, Harold “Bud” (Mary) Conner, Denzel (Alice) Conner, Delilah (Larry) Reams, Alice (Kenny) Hellrung, Neva (Marvin) Wells, Frances (William) Crain, Gerald Conner, Glenda (Gordon) Brewer, and Elsie (Don) Vinson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Conner.
A Memorial Mass will be held 10:30 am Monday July 1, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton with Fr. John Luong OMV celebrant.
Inurnment will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park Cemetery in Godfrey with Alton VFW Post 1308 conducting military rites.
Memorials may be made to Staten-Fine Funeral Home for funeral expenses.
Richard’s request was that his family and friends wear Levis for his memorial service.
