Richard D. Anderson, age 91, of Gibsonia, PA, died on August 10, 2024. Born in Gillespie, IL on September 4, 1932, son of the late James Anderson and Mildred Anderson. Beloved husband of the late Carole Leone Anderson and the late Celestine Cichoski Anderson. Loving father of Cathy Haynes, James Anderson, and Deborah Anderson. Step-father of Raymond Cook. Brother of the late Faye Carls. Dear grandfather of Kevin, Sarah, and Maria. Also survived by one great-grandson, Everett.
A U.S. Air Force Veteran, Richard was a graduate of Southern Illinois University and retired as a Plant Manager of Lone Star Brewery. He loved to hunt, fish, and follow the Steelers and Pirates. Richard was president of the Residents Committee at St. Barnabas, was a devout Catholic, and loved to socialize. He volunteered with St. Barnabas to feed the homeless in Pittsburgh and organized trips to see Pirates games with fellow St. Barnabas residents.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Benld, IL. Burial will be in Benld Cemetery, Benld, IL. Kravanya Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
