Rhanda Sue (Bridges) Hotz, 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Born on January 29, 1951, in Carrollton, Illinois, Rhanda was the beloved daughter of the late Kenneth and Delores (Drainer) Bridges.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Kevin Jay Hotz, who passed on April 29, 2023. Rhanda and Kevin were married on January 20, 1981, in Jerseyville, Illinois, and shared 42 joyful years together.
Rhanda was also preceded in death by her brother, James Bridges, and her sister, Karen (Bridges) Will.
A devoted homemaker, Rhanda was the backbone of Kevin’s construction business, managing the operations and ensuring its success. She also cleaned houses for a living, demonstrating her diligence and care for others. Rhanda cherished the home Kevin built for her and loved hosting family and friends for BBQs and gatherings.
She is survived by her four sisters: Judy Bridges of Kenner, Louisiana; Jeanne (Mike) Northway; Denise (DeWayne) Vetter; and Renee Bridges (Charles Slone), all of East Alton, Illinois. Rhanda also leaves behind three children: Curtiss Johnson, Crystal Angel, and Zak Hotz, all of Jerseyville, Illinois. Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren: Devon Johnson, Dylan (Elisha) Johnson, and Kendall Angel; as well as her two great-grandsons, Gideon and Tavian Johnson.
In keeping with Rhanda’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held in her honor in lieu of traditional funeral services. Family and friends are invited to join in commemorating Rhanda’s vibrant and fulfilled life at DJ’s Pub and Grill in Jerseyville, Illinois, on Saturday, January 25, at 2 p.m.
Rhanda’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
