Rev. Samuel Jack Martin, Jr., 68, passed away 10:28 am, Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at his residence.
Born July 12, 1952 in Mesa, AZ, he was the son of Samuel J., Sr. and Mary Lois (Ketner) Martin.
He had served as the pastor for Pleasant View Baptist Church in Wood River before retiring.
On May 22, 1998 in Cottage Hills, he married Kelly Odle. She survives.
Surviving also are son, Paul Martin; daughter, Faith Rivera; step-son, Randall (Melissa) Harrop; step-daughters, Veronica Harrop, Abigail Harrop; step-mother, Mary Lou Martin; grandchildren, Ethan Martin, Seth Martin, Logan Harrop, Myleigh Erwin, Madelyn Harrop, Joshua Harrop, Khelienah Harrop and Jocelynn Harrop; brothers, Tommy (Glenda) Martin, Dan (Mary) Martin; and sister, Mary (Dan) Koch.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Maxine Martin, who raised him; and step-son, Joshua Harrop.
Visitation will be from 12 pm until time of service at 2 pm, Friday, October 30 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following the service.
Memorials may be made to Partners For Pets or Camp Hugh Youth Camp c/o Friendship General Baptist Church.
