Rev. Lucile "Lucy" Anderson
Medora | Friday, May 31 2013
MEDORA- The Rev. Lucile "Lucy" Anderson, 88, died at 12:42 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2013 at her home with family by her side.
She came to live with the Rev. Gertrude and William Mohr at the age of 24, and quickly became a beloved part of their family.
Lucy devoted everything she was and all she had to serving the Lord and others, serving as pastor of the Fidelity Assembly of God for many years, and impacted hundreds of lives in so many different ways. She had friends and family all over the country and was fondly known to many as Aunt Lucy, while others saw her as Mother, Grandmother, Sister and dear friend.
She had a best friend since 1950, Verda Russell of Fidelity, and they loved each other like sisters.
Lucy also had a great sense of humor, a beautiful smile, and a God given ability to know when someone was in need of prayer, encouragement, warning, or a simple conversation. She was always willing to give of herself no matter the hour. There will never be enough good things to say about our beloved Lucy Anderson. She was the epitome of "Follow me, as I follow Christ" (1 Corinithians 11:1)
Services celebrating her life and ministry will be held at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2013 with a funeral service being conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013.
Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.
