Renee M. Tiemann, 81, died at 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 25, 2009 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton. Born May 23, 1928 in St. Genevieve, MO, she was the daughter of Anthony N. and Philomena (Bayer) Jokerst.
She retired from Alton Memorial Hospital and was a past president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. In 1946, she married Joseph W. Tiemann in St. Louis. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1995.
Surviving are two sons; John Tiemann of Godfrey, and Jim Tiemann and his wife Dosia of Brighton, a granddaughter, Amanda Tiemann of Alton and a great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, and a son, Jerome E. Tiemann.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Burial will be private at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary or the 5A's Animal Shelter.
