Rebecca "Becky" Minor, 72, of Wood River, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Granite City, IL, on April 22, 1952, the daughter of the late Joseph and Amelia (Bausch) Okai of Highland.
Becky was a special education teacher for over 20 years at West Elementary School in the Alton School District. She enjoyed doing crafts, painting, and cooking. She loved to be outside and garden with her grandchildren. She loved animals of all kind, especially her cats.
Along with her mother, Amelia, she is survived by her daughter, Michelle Warnecke of San Diego; siblings, Pam (Joe) Missey of Highland, Diane (Russell) Kloss of Highland, Toni (Joe) Firkus of Tennessee, Brenda Okai of Highland, and Kyra Stratman of Collinsville; three grandchildren, Zach Warnecke, Hannah (Caleb) Fuller, and Emily Warnecke; four great-grandchildren, Mason, Olivia, Titus, and Brooklyn; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph; a daughter, Dana Warnecke; and a sister, Vickie Okai.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 1 pm until time of service at 3 pm, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Caleb Fuller will officiate.
