Rebecca Klutho

Crestwood, MO |

Rebecca (“Becky”) Delia Klutho, née Abilez, age 67, of Crestwood, Missouri, born on December 30, 1957, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Becky’s creativity, integrity and empathetic nature were the underpinnings of her well-lived life. Deeply loyal to her entire family, her parents served as her compass, instilling the value of honoring one’s roots and living a life of service and hard work. She earned her bachelor’s degree from SIUE, her MBA from Webster University, and steadily advanced in her professional career, engaging her talents in notable roles at McDonnell Douglas and MetLife.

She was a dedicated volunteer with Mid-America Transplant in St. Louis, and she created many cherished memories with her husband and best friend, Ted, as they traveled extensively and enjoyed peaceful walks in nature closer to home. Becky held her tight-knit group of high school friends from St. Teresa Academy and Assumption High School close to her heart. She took hardships in stride, facing them with remarkable fortitude, grace and resilience, never allowing them to deter her from pursuing her interests with determination and optimism, and always willing to offer a compassionate ear to others.

Becky will be remembered not only for her incredible strength and character but also for the impact she had on those who were fortunate to know her -- hers is a legacy of strength, leadership, joy and most of all, love. Throughout her life, Becky had a special love for angels, finding comfort and inspiration in their gentle presence. She has now become one of those angels, watching over us with the same grace and love she shared during her lifetime.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Teodoro and Emma (Carr) Guardado; her dear parents, Martin V. and Margarita G. (Guardado) Abilez.

Becky is survived by her devoted husband Ted Klutho of Crestwood, MO; her siblings, Marty (Lisa) Abilez of Maryville, IL, Michelle “Rene” (Bob) Crain of Caseyville, IL, Ed (Laura) Abilez of Ballwin, MO, and Robert Abilez (Jeffery Schott) of Chicago, IL; her dear niece, Audrey Crain, and nephews, Jacob Crain, Parker Crain, Eddie Abilez, Jr., and David Abilez; great-nephew Jason Abilez; and several dear cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Fairmont City, IL or Mid-America Transplant of St. Louis.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.
