Raymond “Ray” E. Robbins, 82, passed away at 5:25 am Friday, November 30, 2012 at his home.
He was born on July 3, 1930 in St. Louis, MO, the son of the late Raymond and Lucille (Handling) Robbins.
He married Rose Mary Ramsey on April 12, 1986 in Bethalto. She survives.
He worked McCarty Services as a truck driver, retiring in 1982. He then worked as a trouble shooter for Schaffner Music. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 525 and the Bethalto Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Ava Absher and her significant other, Kathy Hubbs of St. Louis, MO and Vicki Jo Hyman and her husband, James of Alton; two sons, Raymond Robbins of Kentucky and Kevin Robbins and his significant other, Amanda Perdieu of Terre Haute, IN; thirteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; a close personal friend and adopted daughter, Connie Stalhut and her husband, Andrew of Highland and other extended family..
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Delores Craley, a sister, Bonnie Lee White and a grandson, Charles Hamilton.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:00 pm Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Monday, December 3, 2012 at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Wray officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the Bethalto Presbyterian Church.
