Ray L. Ursprung, 89, died at 4:56 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Rosewood Care in Alton. He was born September 22, 1926 in Worden, IL the son of the late William and Caroline (Schuette) Ursprung. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, was a member of Alton Eagles Aerie #254 and Franklin Masonic Lodge #25. He retired as a machine operator with Mead Packaging in Godfrey. On June 16, 1951 in Pocahontas, Arkansas he married Evelyn E. (Borman) and she preceded him in death on July 7, 1994. Surviving are two sons; Dennis G. Ursprung (Jonene) of Camdenton, MO, Joseph R. Ursprung (Marla) of Bethalto, and one granddaughter; Traci Ursprung. Services and burial will be private. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children or American Cancer Society.
