Ralph W. Green Sr., 72, passed away at 1:35 pm Tuesday May 10, 2011 at home.
He was born on Nov. 8, 1938 in Alton, the son of Leo W. & Katherine (Grace) Green.
He married Donna Jean Cravens on February 21, 1978 at Calvary Temple Church in Alton.
He was a member of Anchor of Hope Fellowship Church in Alton and worked for Granite City Steel Company in the Blast Furnaces. He was an avid New York Yankees fan and loved baseball.
He is survived by his mother, Katherine Green of Alton, a son Ralph W. (Janet ) Green Jr. of Hanover Park, IL, a daughter, Deborah Green of Graham, North Carolina, two grandchildren, Daniel and Virginia Green of Hanover Park, IL and one sister and brother-in-law, Carol & Dave Wiser of Manassas, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his wife Donna Green and his father Leo Green.
Graveside service will be held at 11 am Saturday May 14, 2011 at Upper Alton Cemetery with Rev. Seeram Garney officiating.
Memorials may be made to Anchor of Hope Fellowship Church in Alton.
Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery.
