Phyllis I. Cobine, 73, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at her daughter's home in Olney, Ill.
Born Apr. 1, 1936 in Alton, she was the daughter of Lee and Jennie (Biggerstaff) Hudspeth.
She married Roland D. Cobine Feb. 14, 1959 in Wood River. He survives.
A nurse, she worked for Dr. B.L. Roberson and St. Anthony's Hospital before retiring in 1995 after 38 years.
In addition to her husband, surviving are three daughters and a son-in-law, Sandy and Brad Shryock of Olney, Susie Elliott of Bethalto, and Sherry Kuhn of Roxana; 7 grandchildren, Shelly and Keith Yates, Tim Nevlin, Jacob and Jennifer Shryock, and David and Mark Elliott; 3 great grandchildren, Ethan and Dagan Hubbs and Chloe Nevlin; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Tim Inman and a brother, George Hedspeth, all of Nashville, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Roberta Larner.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, where Steve Wingert will officiate services at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16.
Private inurnment will be at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation.
