Philip H. Gill, 70, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2012.
He was born on April 16, 1941 in Cairo, IL the son of the late Herschel and Christine (Jamison) Gill.
He married Laura E. Foster on April 2, 1977 in East Alton and she preceded him in death in 2003.
Mr. Gill owned and operated Land of Lincoln Carpet and Midwest Battery Warehouse in Wood River, and operated Gill Realty and Classic Décor. He served his country in the US Marine Corp.
He is survived by a son Jacob Gill of Columbia, IL, a daughter Sarah C. Gill of Scottsdale, AZ, one brother Hershell and wife Vivian Gill of Miami, FL.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his brother Billy Gill.
In celebration of his life a Memorial Service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey, with Military Rites being conducted by the Alton VFW Post 1308 Ritual Team.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the Disabled American Veterans.
