Perma Lane

Perma C. Boyer Lane, 95, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 12:51 p.m. on Sunday, April 9, 2023, at the home of her grandson in O’Fallon, Illinois.  She was born February 6, 1928, in Granite City, a daughter of the late Wilburn and Ola (Allen) Warren.  Perma married Dean E. Boyer on September 9, 1950, and he passed away on October 23, 1987.  She later married George Robert Lane on June 14, 1997, and he passed away on October 13, 2006.  She retired as a secretary and had worked for Granite City Steel and the Law Offices of Dick Allen.  She was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Granite City, was a member of Church Women United and enjoyed her years of attending H.O.P.E. Luncheons for widows.  She had a love for shopping, enjoyed her days of bowling and spending time with her Card Club.  She cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.  Perma is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Gale Boyer of Granite City; a daughter, Nanette Boyer of Granite City; three grandchildren and spouses, Shawn and Sara Boyer of O’Fallon, Jessica and Thomas Jackman of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and David and Alyson Boyer of Granite City; eleven great grandchildren, Alexis, Christine, Robert, Anneliese, Finn, Roland, Isaac, Jonathan, Willow, Lydia and Pace; a brother, Allen Warren of Granite City; five stepchildren, Chris Lane of Granite City, Randy Lane Sr. of Florida, Kathleen Wolff of Florida, Rebecca and Joe Rumbolo of Glen Carbon and George Lane of Missouri; many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; other extended family and many friends.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Friday, April 14, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023, with Reverend Skip Leininger and Reverend Mark Jones officiating.  Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.  Memorials may be made to Church Women United or to the Unity Baptist Church in Granite City and may be accepted at the funeral home.  www.irwinchapel.com
