Peggy L. Wooff, 74, died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at her home in Godfrey. Born March 1, 1939 in Gould, OK, she was the daughter of Opal (Pittman) Woodman of St. Charles, IL and the late James Woodman.
She worked as a nurse’s aide for Villa Rose and Alton Memorial Hospital. On December 28, 1957 she married William “Bill” Wooff in Alton. He survives. Along with her husband and mother she is survived bythree daughters, Kelly Schillinger (Dennis) of Alton, Michele Hlafka (Michael) of Alton, and Becky Wooff and Steve Schneberger of Godfrey, eight grandchildren, Todd and Mandy Brantley, Sarah and Greg Newton, Rachel Schillinger, Julia and Brad Roszak, Drew Abromovich, Dustin Abromovich, Austin Schillinger, and Luke Fisher, five great grandchildren, Tanner Newton, Sam Brantley, Kayla Brantley, Liam Roszak, and Hudson Roszak, two brothers, Bill Woodman of Godfrey, Jim Woodman (Coral) of Jacksonville, FL, and two sisters, Dorothy Warner (Dave) of Brockport, NY, Debbie Yates (Mark), of Winnebago, IL. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Musey.
Friends and family will be received from 3:00 p.m. until a celebration of life service at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Whitelaw Avenue Baptist Church in Wood River. Memorials may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation for pancreatic cancer research.
