Peggy June Ballard, 92, passed away, 3:10 am, Saturday, February 13, 20221 at Alton Memorial Rehabilitation and Therapy.
Born August 7, 1928 in Jerseyville, she was the daughter of Leo Sherman Gardner and Celia Mae (Woolsey) Gardner-Young.
Peggy was a very supportive parent and enjoyed fishing and being outdoors as well as her little dog, "Annie".
She married James William Ballard, Sr. on March 27, 1948 in Jerseyville. He preceded in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Cathy Ballard of Delhi, Rosemary (Tim) Anderson of Wood River; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Ballard of Troy, MO; grandchildren, James W. Ballard, III, Amy Ballard, Rebecca Anderson; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Edward Young; son, James William, Jr.; brothers, Leo, Joe and Raymond Gardner; and sister, Dixie Meyer.
Graveside services will be conducted 11 am, Thursday in Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.
Memorials are suggested to the Diabetes Foundation.
