Paul W. Fulkrod, 82, passed away at 12:38pm on Saturday, January 19, 2013, in the emergency room at Alton Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born on November 16, 1930, in Unity, Saskatchewan, Canada the son of the late Garfield and Edith Emily (Coombs) Fulkrod. He married the former Leah Minor on August 21, 1952, in Alton, Illinois and she survives. Other survivors include one daughter and son in law: Nancy and Rev. Dennis Myers of Fennville, Michigan, one son and daughter in law: Jim and Kelly Fulkrod of Bethalto, five grandchildren: Nick, Sarah, Clint and his wife: Amber, Levi, Jordan, four great grandchildren, and a sister in law: Lois Fry of Dorsey, Illinois.
He was formerly employed at Anlin Sulfur Refinery. A farmer by trade, he then was employed at Grain Dryer Systems in Janesville, Wisconsin as a construction foreman. He could fix anything mechanical. He was a member of Emmanuel Free Methodist Church in Alton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: John Fulkrod.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 10 am until time of funeral services at 12pm on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Emmanuel Free Methodist Church, 3993 Fosterburg Road in Alton. Rev. Mark Scandrett will officiate. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family or to Emmanuel Free Methodist Church.
