Paul F. Miller

Paul F. Miller, 88 previously of Alton died peacefully in New Braunfels, TX on Sunday April 21, 2013 with his family at his side.  Born October 14, 1924 in New Florence, Mo. to Emma Grebe Miller and Sam Miller, both preceded him in death.  He is also preceded in death by two sisters, Violet Watts and Margaret Brandenburg.

 He served his country and was a veteran of the US Army serving in WW II in Central Europe and Asia.  He was a machinist and light truck driver during the war.  He was a Lifetime member of the VFW Post 1308 in Alton. After the war, he drove a transport truck delivering cars along route 66 with his sister, Margaret.

He married the former Elizabeth Louise Roberts of Godfrey on April 19th 1952 and they just celebrated their 61st anniversary. He was an All Round Machinist at McDonnell Douglas for 32 years before retiring in January of 1984.

He and his wife loved to camp and fish and belong to the MoJac club until his move.  He enjoyed hunting, gardening and woodworking but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and the many friends he had made throughout the years.

He is survived by his wife, Louise and daughter Paula Morris and husband Kevin of New Braunfels, TX.  He had three grandchildren, Jerry Morgan and his wife Dara, Kevin Morris Jr. and his wife Cynthia and Jennifer Morris all of San Antonio, TX.  There are ten great-grandchildren, Dade, Jarret and Chase Morgan of Perkins, Oklahoma, Armando, Alicia, Alexis, Abigail, Grant, Kevin III and Mikalyn of San Antonio. He is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Smith of Vandalia, Mo. and many nieces and nephews.

In celebration of his life, a memorial visitation will be at 10 a.m. until time of service with full military honors at 11 a.m. Saturday May 4th, 2013 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey. The Rev. John M. Fill will be officiating.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
