Paul E. Russell Sr., 64, died at 7:49 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Hannibal Regional Hospital as a result of a motorcycle accident.
Born August 16, 1946 in St. Charles, MO, he was the son of Paul S. and Louise (Steinbrinker) Russell. He worked for the Carpenter’s Union Local 377 in Wood River and was the owner/operator of Russell’s Inc. in Alton. He was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church in Alton, a charter member of Dream Weavers Motorcycle club and was a Shriner. He loved riding motorcycles and making things and was a good craftsman.
Surviving are two sons, Paul E. Russell Jr. and his wife Stephanie of East Alton, and Michael H. Russell of Brighton, a grandson, Paul Timothy Russell, a sister and brother-in-law, Paulette and Ron Gallas of Pocahontas, IL, and his ex-wife, Mary Jane Russell of Brighton. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Reverend Dawn Kinnikin will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dream Weavers Needy Children’s Christmas Fund, P.O. Box 295, Bethalto, IL 62010.
