Paul Alan Dilling, 65, died at 2:45 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2021, at his home in Jerseyville from complications of a worsening illness.
Paul was a life-long resident of Godfrey, IL. He was born October 4, 1955, in Alton, he was the son of Charles E. Dilling Jr. and Ruth E. (Krepel) Dilling. He was their only son.
Paul was a 1973 graduate of Alton High School. He worked as a long-haul truck driver before joining Continental Airlines where he worked as a flight operations coordinator until his retirement after 21 years of service. Paul enjoyed the outdoors and being on the water. He was especially close to his family and loved family get togethers and reunions.
Paul was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing and sharing meals with friends. Paul will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew him.
Surviving are three sisters, Deanne, Jeanette and Lorraine. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Patty and Laura.
Per his request, the body will be cremated. There will be no visitation at this time due to the COVID-19 situation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
