Patsy L. “Pat” Durer, 92 of Glen Carbon, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.

Pat was born on March 13, 1930, in East St. Louis, Illinois; the daughter of the late Francis “Frank” and Hazel Anna (Beans) Souchek. Pat was a chief clerk at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville for over 20 years and was a member of Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville and a member of Sweet Adelines.

Pat loved anything that you could grow and especially loved growing her house plants. She loved her family and never missed a chance to spend time together. Pat will be remembered for her kind heart and all the special times they shared together.

Pat is survived by and will be missed by her children; Rita and Joe Mojzis of O’Fallon, IL, Donna Svoboda of Edwardsville, IL, James F. Durer of Glen Carbon, IL; 6 grandchildren, Michael and Lisa Mojzis, Jennifer and Michael McLend, Jamie and B.J. Tylka, Jessie and Travis Stephenson, Jared and Christy Durer, Jeanene and Bill Roeck; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann Meyers of Highland, IL; brother, Daniel A. and Margie Souchek of Lynn, MO, and many other close family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Durer Sr.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon. Funeral services will follow on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Robert Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville. Memorial donations are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans.
