Patsy Goss

Patsy Jean (Huff) Goss, 88, went to her heavenly home on December 8, 2020.  She was born in Bluford, Illinois, the daughter of Lester and Minnie (Young) Huff. She was blessed with a large and loving family. Her six daughters survive:  Deborah (Rick) Sims of Bethalto; Angela (Paul) Standefer of Bethalto; Micki (Dana) Emerick of Wood River; Gina (Bob) Brown of East Alton; Jennifer (Craig) Walker of Springfield, Illinois; and Roberta (Dave) Johnson of Chatham, Illinois.  She leaves behind twenty grandchildren: Logan (Elaine) and Tyler Sims; Savannah (Ryan) Cincoski; Ryne (Liz) and Daniel (fiancé Jenny) Emerick; Leah (Keith) Butler; Bobbie (Mike) Schlemer; Brandie, Josh and Jordan Brown; Michael and Corey Korinek; Kyle, Erik, Alex, and Bradley Johnson; Drew (Miranda), Brooke and Tori Standefer and Summer (Ryne) Wirtjes.  She is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren and her sister, Laverne “Sissy” Donohoo. 

After graduating from SIUE with a Master’s in Business Education, Patsy was hired by Lewis and Clark Community College to implement their secretarial program.  She served ten years as the  Coordinator of Secretarial and Office Careers and another ten years as a full-time professor in that area. She received a Presidential Citation in 1981 for program development at LCCC.  She was a member of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Alpha Eta Chapter and a past member of the National Business Education Association, Illinois Business Education Association, Zonta and Business and Professional Women.  She was a faithful and devoted member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, East Alton, for over 60 years.

In addition to her parents and her husband: James Robert Goss, she was preceded in death by an infant son: Michael Robert Goss.

Due to current COVID 19 restrictions, graveside services will be private with a Celebration of Life occurring at a later date. 

St. Paul United Methodist Church, 10 North Center Street, East Alton, Illinois, 62024 has been designated as a memorial.
