Patsy J. Bower, 80, passed away at 7:45 am on Sunday March 11, 2012 at St. Anthony’s Health Center in Alton.
She was born on September 20, 1931 in Johnston City, IL, the daughter of Claude Dee & Jocie Ann (Walker) Potter.
She married Buddy Wayne Bower on June 21, 1958 in St. Clair County. He preceded her in death on August 12, 2002.
She used to work as a Nurse’s Aide at Normandy Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She had a strong faith in God and was a member of Ivy Heights Church of God in Wood River. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school, helping others and volunteering at “His Station Charity Shop” in Staunton.
She loved her children & grandchildren and is survived by four daughters, Brenda Mooney of St. Louis, MO, Pamela Hill and her husband Gary of Wood River, Christina Acord and her husband David of Cottage Hills, Suzanne Brauch and her significant other, Robert of Staunton; nine grandchildren, Charles & Stacy Mooney, Jenny (Pat) Stanger, Michael (Kristina) Davis, Brandi Davis, Marci Bedwell and her fiancé, Joe, Tori Sitton and her significant other Fred, Jacob Sitton, Isaac Bower and her fiancé, Christine; fifteen great grandchildren and one sister, Harriet Davis of Louisiana, MO.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward D. Potter.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
In celebration of her life, memorial services will be at 6 pm Friday at Ivy Heights Church of God.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
