Patrick Allen Compton, 64, of Jerseyville, IL, passed away at 9:53 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at his mother's residence while under the care of HSHS hospice.
Born on October 15, 1960, in Alton, IL, Patrick was the son of Allen Dale and Carol (Johnson) Compton. He worked as a Newspaper Distributor for the Alton Telegraph as an Independent Contractor. Patrick was an avid NASCAR fan and had a passion for working on cars, especially doing bodywork.
He is survived by his mother, Carol Slaten; three sisters, Judy Slaten, Diane (Ray) Greenberg, and Mary Beth Pierre of Edwardsville, IL; a brother, Kevin Slaten of Godfrey, IL; two special daughters, Errin Settle and Dana Settle: and several nieces and nephews.
Patrick was preceded in death by his father, Allen Dale Compton, and his significant other, Amy Settle.
Cremation rites were performed by Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Crematory in Godfrey, IL.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Terry McKinzie officiating.
Inurnment will take place at a later date at Scenic Hill Cemetery in Grafton, IL.
